Why Whiteboard Why?

After reading Mandy's latest Blog, and replying with my own OCD moments, I was reminded of one which I felt was worth posting on my own Blog instead of just leaving as a comment.

I thought of another thing that really bugs me and if I had any control over it, I would. While sitting in my Intro. to Criminal Law class yesterday my professor was using the white board. As she went to erase what she had written, she left behind dry-erase marker; this I've noticed is very common among professors.

AHHHH! This drives me NUTS! Is it so hard to just erase everything from the board?! Do you HAVE to torment me so by leaving remnants of the last thing you wrote?! I want to just get out of my seat, walk down to the front of the class, tear the dirty rag out of her hands, and erase it myself. While I'm quite certain this would not go over too well with my professor, though I might get a laugh from my classmates, I WOULD feel much better. Then I'd surely have to make a very hasty retreat from the class because it would just be awkward sitting through the rest of the lecture.

Hasty retreat? Man, you are just begging for a wedgie.

It's okay, Zach. I totally understand. Even in Sunday School, if I'm using a whiteboard and I let one of my students eraseit for me, I will automatically wipe away anything they missed.

And thereby letting your students know that they are too incompetent to erase a dry-erase board. Way to be a great teacher! LOL!!

Luckily, I think they're too young to realize it ;-)
