Okay so I officially HATE sauerkraut!!
I got to work this morning and the sandwhiches had arrived. While puting them away I noticed just how fat and delicious the rueben looked. I noted though that I didn't like them because of the sauerkraut... not 'cause it didn't taste good, but simply because I looked nasty!! And it does! So my manager told me to go ahead and heat up one of the old ones from the other day... okay fine.
Well... heated it up, took a bite and... spitting it all in the trash!! Guess what... I still HATE sauerkraut!!

LOL! I'm sorry, but I just must laugh it your misfortune, because, well, you definately found a way to make it funny!
Oh and I definately agree--sauerkraut is DISGUSTING!
Hey, I'm a sour Kraut!
You wouldn't make a very good German...
Hey I'm german and I HATE it as well
Blech. I just may throw up.
Reuben sandwiches are awesome. Patty melts are a close second, but a well-made Reuben is a work of culinary art.
There's a deli by the church in Tacoma that makes an absolutely fantastic one. You guys should all come up and try it. You too, Zach.
Hey Zach, what kind of kraut did you eat? High quality sauerkraut is much much better than the cheap stuff. It's kind of like comparing Melellos to Taster's Choice Decaf Crystals. You should try some of the good stuff.
As for Matt's typo, I couldn't help wondering about those pork chop cookies with sauerkraut and brown sugar. Doesn't sound so good... :(
Nope, sauerkraut is sauerkraut. Disgusting no matter how good the 'quality'. That's like saying a root canal was a 'good' root canal because you had it while under anesthetic versus no pain meds at all. In the end, it was still a root canal. Yuck!
Well, I am German and I like it! I think that it is an acquired taste. Admittedly, it was one of those things that I was forced to down as a kid that I now love, all do to the insistence of my parents. Same thing happened with onions, hasn't worked yet for zucchini.
And who is this "we" to which you refer, Matthew? You and Zach? You and your brother? The people posting on this blog? All of America? Some clarification would be excellent =)
I think Matt was referring to the Luka family, but he's incorrect. I got the German blood. Matt's 100% polock.
Sounds like a bit of revisionist history. I bet the ancestor riding the horse was a polock trying to joust with the tank.
It just sounds better when you say the ancestor was run over by a tank.
Taking a stand is an honorable thing, even if evil will overrun you. I for one thought the Poles were incredibly valiant.
