I wonder how much your body can take. That is, how much coffee will the body allow before it says, "HOLD THE PHONE! STOP EVERYTHING!"
Example: There is this crazy guy Dennis who comes in to the shop ever day for his short (12 oz. for those who don't know how short short really is) house coffee. Now that seems fine but he come back at least two or three times in the few hours that I am there. So that means in just four hours he has consumed like, 36 to 48 oz. of coffee. Doesn't that seem a bit much. OH! And if that isn't enough, when he gets his card full of punches, he goes all out with a grande (20 oz.). This is some serious coffee addiction or something.
Anyways, just curious how much the body can handle?

How do you pacce yourself? Is that even legal?
Careful Zachary. With a post like this you could jepordize your job. Telling people not to drink coffee... :)
So on average how much coffee does everyone consume in one day? This goes for you Baristas as well...
I drink about one 8 oz latte a day, on average. Some days I have more.
My record is 11 shots before 10 am, 13 on the day. That'll give you stomach ache, for sure.
Several cups a day. Black. Like a real man.
Well, surprisingly enough, I don't drink that much coffee a day. I have(as odd as this may seem) that now that I am a barista and make coffee for everyone else, I desire it less.
Although I must say that when I do drink it on a regular basis may suffer from withdrawls if I do not have my coffee.
Good ol' stinky Dennis. I can't say that I miss him, but he does make for good conversation.
Yeah, I must say, he does put off a rather strong odor. And he mumbles a lot too.
So what are you both saying that you mumble when you speak as well?Is that why you are able to carry on a conversation with him?
My joe of choice is a quad mocha with extra sugar in the form of vanilla syrup.
Quad venti vanilla mocha.
Since my scale started complaining I've gone to sugar free, but the four shots are a prerequisite to good coffee.
If I had the money, one in the morning and one at night. And I don't stink like Dennis does!
:)
Hey Rational Icthus...is there a reason why you posted that comment 3 times? Just curious....
I am glad you posted it twice though cause I wasn't too sure what you said the first couple of times = )
Not sure why that posted three times. Maybe it's my caffeinated hands going all Mighty Mouse on my leettle mouse button.
So what's it gonna be...
Starbucks
Dutch Bros.
Mellelo's
Human Bean
Seatle's Best
TULLY'S!!!!!!!!!!! I pity the poor souls that live in southern Oregon and California who have never had the pleasure of drinking Tully's coffee!! Come visit me in Seattle and I will take you there. And much to my great delight, all of the little coffee shops at UW started serving exclusive Tully's coffee at the beginning of last school year. Ahhh, life is great =)
Mel's right.
Tully's rocks, if you want your average "good coffee." There is of course, the barista of baristas down at Pike's Market...
But that's not coffee, that's nirvana.
The best chai I've ever had was in a little cafe in Tlaquepaque, Mexico. I can't drink coffee because two cups has me literally twitching and giggling. The downside is that one hour later I drop to the lowest levels of depression I've ever experienced. Coffee is the beverage of the underworld.
I will also have to agree with Melina about Tully's. Many of the times I was up in Seattle, we went to Tully's and enjoyed their wonderful coffee.
But since I live in California, I settle for whatever I can get.
Java City's one of my top picks. Pretty good stuff.
